Yep, by looking at this brewery's name as well as its location, you know that this is a French Canadian brewery, meaning everything you have to read is stubbornly written in French. The name of this brewery, Dieu Du Ciel, means "God of the Sky," which in Greek mythology, was Uranus. Cue childish laughing. Uranus, who was the husband of Gaia (Goddess of Earth), was the father to the first generation of Titans, as well as the direct ancestor to just about all of the well known Greek Gods and Goddesses. And no, that still wouldn't include Hercules. Anyway, the brewery currently brews 22 perennial and seasonal offerings, all distinctive in character and branding (they are all given unique labels featuring the subject of the beer's name). Many of these beers are brewed annually in very limited quantities, which allows the small operation to keep the beer list fresh and diverse. The brewery operates a brewpub in Montreal where guests can purchase bottles to go and enjoy food, beer, and a cool, ornate atmosphere until 3:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays (most other days close at 1:00 AM). The brewery also maintains a learning environment for their valued employees, which routinely take classes, read about brewing, and travel around Canada and abroad in order to discover new beers, styles, and practices.
